A hugely established, independently owned, customer experience design consultancy are looking for a credible and strong leader to Head up their Strategy division.
The agency think anything can be made better by design. They apply this ethos to creating meaningful customer experiences that make for better-differentiated, more loved and higher-value brands.
Their multi-disciplinary team spans strategy, UX, design, creative, retail, film, production and client service experts, all working in close and supportive collaboration. Our client roster features global brands from finance, retail and travel.
The Head of Strategy is responsible for leading the Strategy and Planning team at the agency and for building a world-class team that's known for its excellent thinking, original insights and award-winning work. You will create a department that will be the envy of the industry and successful in attracting the very best talent.
You will be responsible for leading and setting the standards on how the agency apply strategic thinking to their client's businesses. This will range from thought leadership and consultancy across a range of areas, including CX, UX, design, branding, digital, content and mobile through to working with your colleagues across the business to develop the very best in design and creative thinking.
You will not only be responsible for leading and building your own department, but also for providing mentorship and inspiration to the broader agency team to help build a consistent agency approach to how they effectively solve their client's complex business problems.
You'll be an active participant in developing thought leadership for the agency and for their clients. You'll be an industry influencer, well known within the agency's sector as an expert in your field, which will drive new business and talent towards them.
Finally, and as importantly, you'll be a leader in the agency. You'll partner with other members of the leadership team to develop the agency model and ways of working to ensure they deliver on their vision. You'll also be an advocate of their employee experience, continually working with the team and those you work with to ensure that the agency is a great place to work and that they attract the best talent in your areas.

Your key responsibilities
Lead for all London strategy and planning activities
*Responsible for building and leading the strategy and planning activities
*Have a clear plan to build and maintain relationships with clients at the most senior level, ensuring that this agency are the go to consultancy within it's sector
*To build a mission, vision and set of values for the agency strategy and planning team that supports the wider business goals. This plan will be underpinned with a budget and plan for departmental growth identifying relevant opportunities
*Partner with the Service Delivery to ensure your projects and relationships have the right resource available to deliver to expectations and client requirements
*Support the account management teams to ensure their broad strategy and planning requirements are met
Leading your teams
*Drive forward agency culture within all the teams you work with, championing behaviours and values and by facilitating internal connections
*Continually ensure all activity within your department drives your team towards the vision of the business
*Partner with other business leads with recruitment into your areas of specialism and with other roles in the business
*Responsible for the continued strength of their capability across their key specialisms
*Directly responsible for the growth and development of your teams
Agency spokesperson on customer experience across their key sectors
*Build insightful, pioneering points of view and thought leadership that attracts internal and external audiences and raises their profile
*Partner with the Marketing Director to articulate their proposition and expertise for the target external stakeholders in the finance sector
*Make a reputation within the creative world and client businesses as a voice of customer experience.
