Innovation is flourishing in the fintech and being driven my teams with mixed expertise.

The most successful new companies in fintech are being led by teams with a balance of seasoned finance professionals and new blood from outside the industry, according to Open Bank Project Managing Partner Stuart Coleman.

Coleman was one of the expert panellists at a recent Propel London event, Fintech Focus, alongside representatives from Techstars, OpenCorporates and more to discuss the sector's biggest opportunities and challenges

“The biggest challenges are around getting the right talent into the sector,” said Coleman. “People that think differently to traditional financial services but who are able to work with people who understand the sector. The most successful companies are those which have teams of people that can do both".

In our top take outs from the event, in this video, Coleman discusses innovation in the sector and need for new talent.
