Propel London Graduate Scheme
Propel offers a comprehensive graduate scheme for bright young things eager to start a career in digital recruitment. Our internal recruitment process is thorough at all level, and for graduates we make sure we only ever hire individuals with a sharp mind, a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed. Once hired, Propel’s support network allows for consistent training and development. New recruits are taken through a Personal Development Plan and have weekly and monthly meetings with their line managers to track their progress. Our Operations Manager provides extensive training for the database and use of the vast contact network we have here at Propel, and the more experienced recruiters are always be around to lend a hand day to day. Our Commercial Director, James Webb is a great example of how Propel has supported graduates’ progress through the company – he started as a recent graduate Resourcer in 2004.
Propel has a resident Training and Development Manager whose role is centred on the career progression of our staff, particularly grads who are keen to move up the ranks. The T&D Manager caters to the needs of each individual through a wide range of training days and training courses to mould to individual consultant needs. Propel also employs Anna Rassmussen Ltd to provide leadership training classes for those at senior management level.
To incentivise the new recruits, there is a separate ‘Rookie League’ for recruitment consultants who have been in the business for less than a year. Each month, the top biller from the Rookie League accompanies the five top billers from the rest of the company on the monthly incentive trip. Check out where we have been in the past on our Work for Us Blog.
To be a successful graduate in this market, Propel looks for those with intelligence, initiative and a commitment to hard work. In the past, grads have come from all backgrounds and all courses - from industry focused subjects such as New Media and Communications and IT and Business to more broad degrees in History and Linguistics. There is a great mix of people who share in the experience together – from the enthusiasm of having a first time paid job and the chance to develop your career, to the woes of paying tax and not being able to lie in until 11am.
The lack of lie-ins aside, Propel provides a supportive, social and diligent environment where graduates are encouraged to thrive from day on with the constant help of friendly colleagues and an effective training programme. For graduates who have not yet experienced full time work, Propel is a great place to be.
