I often hear it said that certain new cars are designed to "give the impression of movement", even when they're standing still. This BMW artwork by Jeff Koons takes that principle and pushes it to the edge and beyond.

According to Jeff, "There is a lot of power under that hood and I want to let my ideas transcend with the car; it's really to connect with that power". The effect is very impressive.

There's a long tradition of artists painting racing cars, including the likes of Andy Warhol. Good company to be keeping.

The question is, if the car looks like it's doing 200mph standing still, how fast will it look streaking around the Le Mans 24 this weekend?
