Next Wednesday night we’ll be attending the A4U awards – self-proclaimed “most glamorous night in the affiliate marketing calendar”, and who are we to disagree?

We’re sponsoring one of the categories – Best Lead Generation Campaign.  Keep your eyes peeled for our own Mel Jacovou on stage presenting the gong.

Not only is the A4U awards a great chance to get dressed up and mingle with the industry great and good, but it’s an interesting opportunity to gauge the current state of the affiliate marketing world.

It’s encouraging to see some new thinking on display.  Take a look at the innovation categories to get an idea of what I mean. 

Linkshare’s #tweetshop is an interesting use of Twitter to bring a new angle to affiliate advertising.  Sites like Top10.com and Recombu bring some seriously useful content to the price comparison model, and advertisers like Ebay and Prezzybox seem to be constantly striving to bring total transparency, simplicity, and high standards to their affiliate programs. 

These are just a few examples – the shortlists are literally chock-full of businesses contributing significantly to the growth and continued success of the sector.
