Last night we played host to She Says, a great digital networking event for the ladies of digital.
The topic of the night was “The Best of Awards Season” and we were lucky enough to hear from Paul Banham from JWT, Liz Sivell from R/GA, and Simon Labatt from Saint, about the campaigns they have been really impressed with.
Lots of ground was covered – some highlights for your perusal including:
Old Spice – The Man Your Man Could Smell Like
After Eight – Meet Jim Jaynes
Philharmoniker Hamburg – The Sounds of Hamburg
Nike/LiveStrong – Chalkbot
Asics – Left and Right
Talk Talk – Brightdancing
BooneOakley – Website
Be sure to check them out – all excellent work for a variety of different reasons.
Two key themes that came up last night: firstly, that it’s essential to think about business needs first when planning creative campaigns. Too often brands make the mistake of using technology for technology’s sake and see their campaigns miss the mark.
Secondly, that marketers thinking should be “joined up” when it comes to channels. Talk Talk’s “Brightdancing” campaign was a great example of this – digital activity feeding into above the line, in turn feeding back into digital. Thinking in silos is no longer an option.
Check out our photos from last night on our (brand new) Flickr photostream, and if you couldn’t come along last night bear She Says in mind for the future – it’s a really great event.
